in the shop for a month now :(

my 2009 740Li with only 9000miles is in the shop for almost a month now with recurring engine malfunction light during hard acceleration and a whining sound already replaced pulleys and alternator (except for one last pulley) , turbo (except for new air ducts).....now awaiting for more parts to fix.

Almost hate to ask, but do you have a warranty?

yes, i reported these problems as my factory warranty expired, so its under goodwill warranty.

im just disappointed with the speed and accuracy (or the lack of) of the repair work.

yes, bought it brandnew in October 2009. one of the very first 7s here. i have only driven it for 15,000kms since new.

worse, dealer is 7 hours drive away, so it wont be easy to go there and check on my car. flights times arent convenient either

Really shocked to see issues like you're experince with such a low mileage car but that been said I'm having some nagging issues with my Audi S5 which I bought new last year. I rarely drive it, 1-2 times a month, and last time I dropped it off to have a airbag malfunction light fixed the Audi tech hinted that because my car sits around and is barely driven that I'm going to have more issues long term. Kind of makes you wonder that cars like the 7er should be driven more often rather than having them sit in the garage.

as much as i would like to drive my cars, i just walk to my office my 7 has the highest mileage of all my cars at 9000miles since the other two have 5000miles and 1500miles only.

I start that next week! WFH 4 days a week.

Should i let them pay my monthly financing? give me extended warranty? buy back my car? what else should i ask?

Guess that depends mostly on whether you want to keep the car. Is this the same dealer you purchased it from? If you want to trade into a new car, I would think they would bend over backwards to accommodate you. This long in the shop is crazy and they know it. I think it’s time for them to call in a rep from BMW.

Already reported this with BMW Asia, I'm on holiday, if the car is unfixed by the time I get back a couple of weeks from now, I'm gonna demand for a buy back or trade assist with a 6GC

my car is turning two months with the dealership nextweek

told them to return the car on or before October 31st otherwise, im demanding a buyback

they have replaced both turbos, turbo ducting, gateway control module, alternator, belt, all engine pulleys, and the car is still unfixed. gonna be installing a new HPFP this weekend.

really replacing random parts at the dealer ?? i dont remember doing that when i worked at the dealer ..

if you were around my area i would defintely take a look at it for you

taking delivery of my car after two months in the shop tomorrow. its gonna be a 9 hour flatbed trucking trip to me

just took delivery of my car yesterday, so far so good. i just detailed it half day today. good thing is they updated the software and now i have voice command etc..... the best thing is it was fixed under warranty ---since the total bill was US$10,000 and the distributor has given me another one year warranty as compensation for the 2 months repair delay.

its a new car feeling again after not having it for 2 months.
