Fashion is fun, however, I feel sorry for those who allow themselves to be ruled by the opinion of others - which constitutes a form of slavery. This realm of self-subjugation is usually the home of the deeply insecure.
The new M4 will most likely be brilliant, but if I had waited for it, I would have denied myself the exceptional – perhaps once in a generation - automotive experience of driving an E92 M3. Cars come and go, but it is very cool to appreciate a particular car on its own aesthetic and dynamic merits, and not as a whimsical fashion statement. When I see a well-cared for older BMW – I see the manifest passion of an enthusiast, and I feel a sense of kinship.

Personally, I love the new grill. They've added some depth to it that makes it look more substantial. I hated the pre-LCS grill with the top of the kidney attached to the hood.
There are certain parts of a BMW that should remain constant, and the kidney grill is one of them. It should never be split in two, and adding the depth/weight that the F30 design has is a welcomed improvement. That said, I haven't seen the car in person yet.

Yeah I suppose that’s true in most cases. Its just hard to believe in this case much thought was put into concluding that just because he has a BMW his fodder by products don’t stink.

Not in the Blazer edition with the base engine at introduction. That one couldn't drive at the speed limit on level ground in top gear (no joke - if you weren't going at least 10 mph over the speed limit, it wouldn't hold speed in its top gear).

i dont think im unqiue cause i drive my crappy little 3 series, but i do try and drive one that is unique in and of itself.
you must be one of those people who believes "BMWs should only be grey, black and white" BMW corporate robot army FTW! and fwiw, i could probably get a 6 series next time around to truly show everyone who much cooler i am. but in the end i just need a car to get back and forth, dont really care enough. but at the same time dont want to look like a spoiled brat whose parents just bought them a new BMW. She already is on her way to success. Has a great job and her own place with a garage in the city of Philadelphia. She met the goals we set for her during college and in getting a job. She earned the reward of driving a great car before she gets loaded down with all of the responsibilities that get thrown at you later in life.

Good job. I wonder how many starved, diseased children your daughters car is worth?

Why is that my problem? My wife and I had as many children as WE COULD easily AFFORD. Many of those people should have planned like we did. Besides, my taxes already support those people who have babies just so they can receive more child subsidies from our friendly socialist government.

Back to topic.
I say this many times.....most cars look dated once the new model comes out. BUT, put new rims (with agresive offset), professionaly detailed the car, it'll stay ahead of the curve. I just detailed my 2002 X5 completely (including plastic treatment, wheel well and under-cariage etc), powder coated the rims, put new headlamps (no polishing it won't work here cause the reflector fades) and it looks way better than most E70 on the street. |

Dunno. How many starved, diseased children could be supported with the insurance premium you pay on your car instead of on a 15-year-old Corolla? How many could be supported with the cost of the pair of shoes you're wearing versus a second-hand pair from Goodwill? Why do any of these questions have any bearing on a purchase a parent makes for his own child?

Because for every 16 yr old that gets an M3, 1000 malnourished 8 yr olds in 3rd world countries die unseen and unheard. Who cares about those friggin subhumans though. We need our kids to be cool, right? Cause money is everything is this society, even if it means grossly misappropriating wealth to people who already are disgustingly wealthy.
