M5 Inventory

Wow, about a dozen M5s available in the Houston area. I figured they'd have a lot of presales and it would take time to actually see one on a showroom floor.

M6's are sitting in my area. For some reason this car isn't selling well. Look at the resale of 1 year old E63's those are already in the mid-70s!!

I do think one reason is the pricing of the S6, $20,000-$30,000 less than an M5 is a BIG difference.

The S6 blah factor is worth that much. It just doesn't look very exciting. The M5, or M6 have a great presence in person.

Just wait until some of the other surrounding Central Texas (and other cities) find out about the in-stock inventory. Three sold in my area, two of these the same day they hit the dealership.

My local dealer has 3 M5 and 3 M6 in stock for immediate delivery

Cars in stock are listed in the internet. Every dealer knows where the cars are located.

I really wasn't referring to other dealers. Customers don't usually check every other cities' inventory situation. I can tell you that the further west you go, the pricier they are if they do have any in stock.

BMW Woodlands has 3 in stock, are dealers working deals to move the cars or trying the over msrp asking price game?

It's got nothing to do with the S6 pricing. The two cars are nowhere near the same caliber.

It's like comparing a mustang to an M3. The cheaper car is far less luxurious, it is cheaply engineered, it doesn't have the same level of engineering technology, and it is less exciting to drive.

That's what I want to know :-) also, based on this inventory and year end situation, what kind of m5 deals are being made?

Bottom line, these m5's have to find a home in any state in the old US OF A out there in December ..... Contact me for your personal "black Friday" deal!

Actually Greg I had no idea I just remember seeing a thread on someone upset they couldn't get a car from someone here and I could have swore it was for out of state reasons so I never even bothered looking into it... I will say I'm rather curious now though, how does returning it work (unless after the lease expires I get to keep it )?

Just return it to local dealer.... Nice and easy.

Maybe if the F10 wasn't the size of a battle ship it would sell. I could not stand just how big the f10 was. I couldn't handle driving a car that big so I opted for the M3

This is the dumbest comment I have read ever. The F10 is the same length as every other car in this segment. Of it was smaller people would say what's the point of buying an F10 when the F30 is the same size.

Honestly if you like driving cars sized for women go for it.

MRV99 and Stealth both has a point. The F10 needs to be significantly bigger than the F30 to make segment sense but the M5 is also pushing the size of a traditional M car. It's simply to big to provide the tight, tidy and athletic handling that the M3 and M5s are known for. These cars are getting too big, E46 and E39 was just about perfect and the XL size should have been left to the 7 series. Now with the F-cars the three is a small 5 and the 5 is a small 7 and it has an impact not only on roominess but on perceived handling as well. A smaller, lighter car will feel more nimble and athletic.

Stealth, now when you know the new M5 inside and out has your track assessment of the M5 vs the M3 changed a lot? I remember that you felt the M3 was the sharper car in Sevilla but that was without any M5 experience. Were you faster with the M5 at the M driving school?
