Waterless Wash
I tried one panel with a very generous amount of Chemical Guys P40 detail spray the other day and I was pleased with the look. I think to do the entire car, it may take 10+ MF towels. But my question is the safety. I see many of you swear by The Optimum waterless wash and was wondering if anyone has noticed any scratching or damage? I was thinking of trying the Griots spray car wash. 35oz + 3 MF for $22.99 seems to be a steal.

Like most processes with detailing its as much, if not more, about technique than product. ONR used correctly will not scratch paintwork and will clean the dirtiest paint surface

I've been using Poorboys World, Spray & Wipe for years and have no issues with marring. As stated above, the process is the most important.

I really like GG spray on car wash-- it's thicker than other products (not that it means anything in particular to me), it has a very nice scent and the towels are soft, thick and plush. It cleans well and leaves a nice shine. $22.99 is a really good price for the kit.

Currently using Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ Concentrate - 16 oz is about $20...but you only need 1 oz in 3 gallons for wash, and you can also make a quick detail spray with it using 1/2 oz to 22 oz water... http://www.autogeek.net/ultima-water...ncentrate.html cheers, Andrew |

I've tried ONR on the coupe quite a few times without problems.
I've tried Protect-All's Quick and Easy Wash on the bus without problems. I've just recently tried the Eco Touch waterless wash on the coupe and it's a real winner. No scratches/swirls either. -John C.

Do you guys spray the waterless wash of your choice on the windows? Or do you use your choice of window cleaner?

I've used many different kinds, and some streak more than others on glass. The best one I have used is Ultima. It has the highest dilution ration of 1:44, best lubricity, finishes streak free and smells like bubble gum. I keep a small 3oz spray bottle in the trunk and a MF towel for bird turds.

In terms of safety; if the the car is very dirty, I do a regular wash with a foam gun and two bucket method (regardless of the weather).
I've accidentally swirled my very dirty car using ONR, there was just too much rain-road-grime - and I didn't pre-soak, and I probably didn't rinse the wash mit enough. For a lightly dirty car, I'll use Optimum No Rinse (ONR), but I'll pre-soak the car by spraying diluted ONR from a spray bottle. Swirls are the enemy. Using ONR correctly is key too, as I learned.
