540i single exhaust conversion to dual exhaust help?!
I want to put dual exhaust on my 540i but saw the spare tire and battery compartment is blocking the area needed to run pipes. How would I modify this to work? I've seen none M5 E39's with dual exhaust, so it can be done. Can anyone instruct me on the instructions? Thanks

It's pretty annoying, but if you wanted it as bad as I did it is possible. It is also possible to keep your spare tire intact as I have mines still. Don't expect a muffler to fit though. If you have a OEM M5 bumper it can route without any modification from the end of the driver side pipes to the passenger side. Basically it'll be perpendicular. Alternatively, Eisenmann and Dinan have custom ones that will fit without any modification, but as perfect as that sounds, you will be spending a lot of money. Finally (the most desperate option), you can bash in certain parts of the spare tire well without affecting the spare tire and the battery and a straight pipe from the resonant will fit perfectly. Although I do not recommend the trunk bashing, it is a solution. Only do it if you get desperate for me and want to save money
, but if not just settle for a dual tip. It still looks great and some BMW owners do enjoy the single dual tip rather than the quad tips.
