I was rear ended a few years ago, with a coworker and his wife in the car. even though the damage was light, i still called my insurance company and reported the incident to cover myself. i have a clean driving record, and reporting the incident did not raise my rates at all.
There's an injury threshold in NY. Safe to assume it isn't met with a car accident that caused $685 in damage.

My bet is that even if he is sued, the insurance company would handle it because it would cost them about 80 bucks in legal fees to have the case dismissed.

I think OP headed for the hills once he realized he wasn't getting a bunch of "oh wow your insurance company is treating you unfairly" answers....

"Their" is a possessive pronoun. In a phrase like “Susan and Bill's car,” it could be used to to make a new phrase: “their car.”

”They're” is a contraction of “they are.”
“They are” should always be able to replace “they're.”

Extra credit: It's "I'm looking for an M3" not "I'm looking for a M3".

or just hire an attorney for the plaintiff to have the OP found 100% at fault, and to disclaim coverage due to not reporting it

I am here. Lol I just pointed out it is not always best to call your insurance right away. Always give 24-48 hours and get a quote before filing..

You had a douche of an agent. The agent should have said "no problem, take care"

no - that's not what you said

You said "it's not always good to be HONEST with your insurance co". I know that because it's the title of this thread.

You also didn't anwer my question: You called your insurance company and you reported an incident - what did you think they were going to do?

I just had a fender bender a couple of month ago, a hit and run while I was park and away from the car. I did not call my insurance for a week or so because I was try to figure out if I wanted to fix the damage out of my own pocket or find a claim. After I talk to the body shop, I call the insurance company and file a claim, there was no issue at all with the delay reporting.

Ok I'll rephrase my original statement. "It's not the best thing to be up front about a. Minor accident."

I needed my agent 2 times in 7 years. Both times he has not been their. A little contradictory to the advertising campaign.
