E39 530D Sport Touring suspension upgrade-confusing options....
Hi all,
newbie to forum, long time and multiple BMW owner, any help would be most welcome. I am looking to upgrade saggy shocks and springs on my workhorse. The car has the M-Technic suspension and self-levelling. Previously I have always stuck with tried and tested H&R/Bilstein Sport combo or Bilstein HD shocks/stock springs. In this case trying to spec an aftermarket gas pressured monotube shock has not been easy. Has anyone had experience with this upgrade on this car specifically? One note, the car is plush, and I am looking for a slight stiffer ride, but prefer not a shortened shock that will lower the car further. With the m-technic suspension the car already scrapes the front bumper too often. Any feedback really appreciated. Thanks Paulo |
