What are people doing for the break in period? Following the book, or driving the hell out of it?

dont' have the car yet, but I usually keep it under 3500 rpms for 1K miles and then increase a few times from there a week. After 2500K miles it should be ready to be driven any way you want.

As soon as you pick up the car from the dealer. Right out of the show room, you should put one foot on the brake and gas the rpm up to red line and launch it out of the parking lot. Continue doing this until you get to 1200 miles and then you can drive normal after that. Dont forget, during the first 200 miles, jam on your brakes as hard as you can everytime you stop.

Trying to keep it under 4500RPM until i hit 2000km in a couple of days, right went I get to Nurburgring (Doing ED). I did hit 5500RPM on a hairy car passing maneuver in Grossglockner. Oh well.
