Problem solved by contacting bmw customer service email.
Dealers all provided the wrong code Last edited by lovemyz3; 09-28-2012 at 08:02 AM. |

Are you sure you don't have an Alpine radio? Both Alpine and Blaupunkit supplied radios. And as unbelievable as this sounds, the serial numbers overlap.
Go back to the dealer and ask for the Blauounkit code. Then ask for the Alpine code. If the codes match, go find another dealer. Because a match is not very probable. If you pull the radio, you could check if the serial number written on the side of the radio is identical to one being displayed. Searching on "radio code" will turn up more info. have the codes been different?
are you allowing the radio to enter the code wait state? or code ready state? Code wait will not allow you to enter any codes. you will need to leave the key on for 30 min or more for the radio to go back to the "code ready" state. Once you have the radio ready to accept the codes enter your code carefully. if the first code does not work then try the second code. If that does not work then contact They gave me the correct code first time. They will give you both the US and Euro codes and it cost less than $15. Do pull the radio and get all the info off the stickers on the radio before contacting them. I took photos of my radio just incase I needed different info. Good luck. |

Doug and Todd,
I followed your advice and double checked everything. I even called the dealer again who said I had to buy a new radio for $150.00. This is absurd. I have attached 2 photos of the stickers on the radio which I have removed. ![]() ![]() Please help. |

Here's a long shot. Perhaps you need the european code? It's happened before - see post 8 in http://forum.roadfly.com/threads/106...our-radio-code
And, just for grins, get the Alpine code. I doubt that the Alpine code will work, but why not give it a try? Is everyone giving you the same code? |

To state the obvious, I assume you looked in the owners manual for the little card that has the code.

Just got off the phone with a 3rd dealership who I faxed the images of the stickers of. The new code they gave me does not work. I have emailed Blaupunkt also. Running out of options here. I am going to try to swing by the dealership but this is the same dealership giving me faulty codes. I have looked in the owners booklet, it does not contain the code. I searched all the booklets to see if the numbers were written anywhere and they are not. Last edited by lovemyz3; 09-27-2012 at 09:51 AM. |

When 3 dealers give 4 different codes, the problem is the dealers are giving you the wrong code. There is no other reasonable explanation. I would contact BMWUSA Customer Relations
