Squeaky Rear Suspension

Hello

I have a mildly annoying issue. Whenever I get out of my car and stand up beside it I hear a squeak from the left rear suspension as the car settles. I never hear it when I am driving, but that may just be it is inaudible over the wind noise. I dont hear it low speed over bumps or anything similar.

There is nothing noticable about the handling. If it was on my old TR8, I would say it was a worn bushing, but I have no idea of how the rear suspesion works on this car having just bought the Z.

Anyone familiar with this annoying racket? Much obliged.

Dan

I have the same thing on mine. 2006 M Roadster 60K miles, unknown if any suspension components were replaced. Interested to hear opinions on this...

Solution

It was the handbrake cable. Just nneded a little grease. The noise is totally gone.

Thanks I've got the exact same symptom. Will be checking out the brake cable.

I have the same "feature."

How exactly do I grease the handbrake wire?
Can I do this from the cabin with an aerosol can?

I removed the wheel to see if I could find any obvious grease-points, but I didn't.
I couldn't reproduce the sound with the wheel off either. And I didn't want to guess-grease anything that close to the brakes.
