Just seems random, I know they do it with the button, but the other day I drove into a parking garage and they were folded in, I don't remember pushing the button. On another occasion pulled out of the parking lot from work and they were folded in (has happened a couple times). Seems they do it on there own some times. Therefore the randomness.

I couldn't agree more. Why has Ant not been banned or excommunicated to a Honda Civic forum? He's still ranting and raving about all the mods he has done to his MOTHER'S car. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but come on, Ant never posts anything worth reading and his posts are the "forum equivalent" to the spam I get from the African prince of Mudhutzania wanting to bequeath me with his "millions of dollars US". Ant is a stereotypical, spoiled asian kid obsessed with how other people perceive him. Coincidentally, other people's perception of him directly coincides with his own self worth. SORRY-- I HAD TO VENT. I'll step down off my virtual soapbox now. And yes, I know this is a reply to a 2010 post... it's still relevant! Last edited by Gahngoo; 09-28-2012 at 01:39 PM. |

Oh yeah! Actually I start grinning when I open the garage door and unlock my girl for our first drive of the day. I am still grinning when I pull back into the garage at night. Something else I discovered is that everytime my husband rides with me on mountain roads he screams "this is not a video game!"

- As I turn left or right at night, a side light comes on on the side I'm turning to, to help see better. Didn't have this on my 335 (I have a 535 2010 now).
- Still can't make my blackberry send sms messages through idrive. - Finally figured out the garage door opener functionality - I don't like the new shifter, it feels more like a joystick. - You can save cd's on the harddrive, no need to carry them around |

Is there a video explaining the same

Oceans i figured out.. acutally no need of any button..
On the truck just below the BMW emblem, you should see a space to have your hand hold the trunk, just insert your hand and feel it, the trunk should open... This is only applicable for someone with Comfort access package..

I still wish the car would auto fold mirrors when holding the finger on the "Close" touchpad.
Mine does not even folds the mirrors even if i hold the lock button. |

Decided to resurrect this thread for two reasons. One, there's been a bunch of new owners over the past few months that might learn something new about their car, and also, I found something new about my car. I found that if I push the start button, then depress the clutch (rather than the other way round), the engine will start. Not sure if the same thing happens for a car with the automatic transmission (although, with the brake pedal rather than the clutch).

The thing I discovered last month was with the heated seat option. In the iDrive climate section you can adjust the heat distribution between your butt and back. Ive got most of the heat on my back which is great when its freezing out there.

For pre-CIC entertainment: If you push and hold the idrive controller in the direction of the corresponding menu you would like to access, the menu controls will pop up. For example, if you are on the navigation screen and want access the entertainment menu, hold the controller towards the rear (or down on the screen) and that menu will pop up after a few seconds. Way easier than having to press a bunch of buttons or using the voice commands

LOL, the first time I washed my 550 after buying it I noticed a camera mounted under the rearview mirror. I originally thought I had Adaptive Cruise. but I looked through the manual and figured I probably had Lane Departure Warning instead (Adaptive Cruise is located in the front bumper), but I didn't have the buttons to activate Lane Departure, so I was stumped. I finally (with the help of friends) figured out that I have High Beam Assist, only the Germans would engineer in a camera just for high beam assist.

Agree. Especially the double spoke sport wheels. I also found a couple of things in the trunk today: I believe one may be the power outlet, but the other?

I love that I can load the owners manual in PDF on my Kindle, iPad and iPhone, and it has a clickable table of contents to go right to the relevant page / area.

I discovered that with comfort access, you can roll up the windows & sunroof by keeping your finger on the handle to lock it. Just takes a couple seconds to start. The car will also prevent comfort access locking if any door is not completely closed. Figured it out the hard way.

When you flip the washer switch to splash water to clean your windshields, the headlights also have their own washer that splashes water on them (it comes out & goes back in).
