BMW CCA LA Autocross Results
Hi Gang,
So I autocrossed my F30 328i for the first time ever. I was running some leftover 245/40-18 tires on Moda MD5 wheels. My best time today was a 60.8 which would have have given me 1st in M Stock, 1st in 6, 8 and 12 cylinder Turbo Modified, 1st in 6, 8 and 12 cylinder Turbo stock (I was 3 seconds faster than the fastest 335i) and fastest in 6, 8 and 12 cylinder stock. If I was competing in the non-BMW class I would have come in second to a heavily modified STI. In my class (Instructor) I placed 7 out of 10. Fast time of the day went to the guy who owns West End Alignment in LA, driving a radical civic, at 55.946. Wicked fast!!!! I am impressed by my totally stock 328i. It is a fantastic autocross car!!!!! Every reason I had for buying it was totally validated today insofar as it is just wicked quick and well balanced. Everybody who drove it commented on how neutral and forgiving the car is. Can't wait to get it onto the track tomorrow!
