Is the acceleration hesitation still a problem on the 2012 X3

No hesitation on ours, it can be driven exactly how you want . It loves all modes available-- can be driven very gently to very agressive ( 2013 4cy )

I agree that the drive by wire throttle application in the X3 was designed by the East German engineering team. My wife's 6yr old Acura has drive by wire and the throttle response is perfect.

That is exactly what i said. Two did not and one did. That is one third by my math. I drove them all within the same three weeks at a time that this was not even a discussion. It was the very first month the new F25 was out. So it was not an issue of one not having an update and the others did. There was no update at that time.

It is not the problems that make me so short tempered with BMWNA, but their constant denials and trying to shift the blame to the driver. They haven't even changed the textbook responses from 5 years ago.

I truly envy you as you seem to be one of those lucky ones.
Nevertheless, I have instructed my IT staff to post my complaints about our X3 to several web pages AND post them on every major search engine. In about 7 to 10 weeks BMW will see the (financial) results of my complaining. They didn't listen once, they will listen when it will be very expensive (for them) to listen. By then there will be a certain drop in the number of new X3 and X5 customers in Canada and the U.S. -- and it will be followed by more work.

At this time my IT staff must spend on publicizing my BMW complaints only 1 hour a day. It gets better as time goes by. I never get mad... but I always get even. :-)

No problem on the current cars and there is a fix for the previous models through a TSB.

Nope, the problem is still far from being fixed.

I have a 2013 and hesitation is still significant. Most noticeable when coasting and then re accelerating my dealer checked it and said nothing could be one. I use paddle shifters as a workaround.

WOW! And that is for THAT MUCH money??? What a lousy product BMW is manufacturing AND actually SELLING to unsuspecting customers in North America. That is a true shame! Well, you never know, maybe Germany is no longer manufacturing the best gadgets. Everything comes to an end after all. Is this IT for Germany? Sad. Very sad.
