Clay bar will remove the swirl marks, I think Mcguires makes a kit.

Actually, clay only removes the contaminants on the paint. Swirls show that the paint is uneven, meaning light is reflected in each scratch that make them up.

You must polish the paint in order to remove swirls. One solution if polishing is not an option is applying a glaze before applying a sealant/wax as a temporary solution by filling in the swirls.

If you do choose to polish, DetailedImage.com has great tutorials on proper detailing techniques. However if you are a bit intimidated by the process, I suggest finding a reputable detailer.

+1 on Detailed Image. They answered all my questions and turned me on to the products pictured. I have used many in my life....these are simply the best I have ever used.

I got a quote today for $325, to remove not cover the swirl and buffer marks. According to the mobile detailer it's a 3 step process. Being that my car is black, I don't want to chance it by doing it on my own.
