If you are NOT tech savvy, buy a Turner chip...

If you ARE tech savvy, the only option is a WAR chip.

I've done the research on chips and the Miller "WAR" chip seems to be the one to go for. A lot of the US guys don't appear to regularly drive long distances as we do in OZ so the flexibility of being able to select a chip which has multiple tunes eg. economy tune vs performance would probably suit best. When I have the $'s that's the way I will go anyway.

Are you capable with a computer? WAR chips allow you to load your 'own' tune...so you would need to know what you are doing around a computer so you don't botch that...and then you would also have to know your way around a car if you wanted to make your own tune...most people can barely do either...those people shouldn't buy a WAR chip. Do a little reading on the subject. Anyone with thumbs can install a chip...physically...not everyone understands a WAR chip...

Thanx guys. I spent about more than 7 hours of research yesterday and found that the EAT chip is the one so i bought it. They said that the EAT AND THE WAR CHIPS are the same. Pluse yes we are into computers. And i asked you guys only because i dont want to try any thing bad n fake because my biemmer is one of 14 ever imported to Australia so i have to take care of it no matter wat. thanx guys any way and will see how it goes with eat chip. If dont like it igo a head with the WAR CHIP.

Hey de kala, when you install the chip let us know of the difference to performance. A re-chip is on the list for me also.

I have had the EAT chip in my 95 525i for at least 6 years. Works great, better low and mid range power. Egone seems smooth. Must use higher octane here in the US. I average about 23 mpg with mixed driving. I have woindered about the WAR chip. However I do not really want to play with different tunes. I just wanted a better running car.

Sure i promise just let me get it first.

The WAR chip and EAT chip are NOT the same thing or even close.

The thing I really like about the WAR chip is you can have a few different tunes loaded and switch between them on the fly. So I can run the 'economy tune' while I drive to the track (25mpg's+) and then turn the knob to 'track use' and rail it to death on the track...(more HP)

To each his own, but having multiple tunes on deck seems like a great thing to me. (and nothing against EAT chips...they are a great product)

Man thats why isked this question koz i have no idea about these thig. Its too late for me anyway i alrady bought the EAT CHIP and its on the way to me i hope

Based on the fact that you can load your own tune: it'll work just as good if not better than every other chip on the market...asking if the WAR chip is right for you/your car is like asking if breathing is good for you/your lungs...you simply can't go wrong.
