Drive from Vienna to Munich
I'm in Vienna on ED right now and I'm planning on taking a day to back to Munich for Oktoberfest. Are their any mountain passes, alpine roads or just fun roads that I can take on my drive back to Munich. I don't mind spending an extra hour or so of driving if its out of my way.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I think you should go via Berchtesgaden, havent been there myself... but have heard good things.

We just made the drive. I would recommend you go via Steyr, the Gesause (a national park) which parallels the Ennes river, thence via the Salzkamergut region (lakes district). It's a beautiful drive which will probably add about two hours to the other wise boring autobahn route. Good luck.
