Transport mode

I have a 2010 x5 diesal sport and have had a problem that for no reason the transport mode switched on, with no warning lights . It only effected the rear suspension and only became obvious when people complained of how uncomfortable the ride in the rear was and then I noticed car was sat low only an inch above wheel trim !
Bmw have told me that it is not the same as the transport mode at brand new pdi stage , where a warning light will be on - has anyone had this
I have also had 6 tyres go at only 29,000 miles as it seems to have affected the camber and wheel alignment - which is more than my other o4 x5has had since new !

You have passengers in the transport mode? This seems very odd. Can you provide more deatails?

I only found out it was in transport mode after passengers complained of the poor ride in rear . I then took to bmw garage who confirmed gone into transport mode and we don't know why
