Changing center console faceplate

I want to change the faceplates on my specific 2000 Z3, E36/7.
I want to try this myself so I'm looking for some step by step instructions.
Here is a photo of the console:

I want to install black faceplates. Waiting for them to come in from my local BMW dealer.
Will probably try to sell the wood grain faceplates.
Any help would be appreciated.
