Absolutely, and not only in the US.
It's the second media generation. All they get to see is people making fun of other people on TV and the Internet. They grow up soaking those shows where adults make fun of other adults. What can you expect? Less-than-average intelligent kid will simply project that behavior onto his everyday life.

I heard on the news radio station here (1010 News) that it was on most/all morning TV programs. Good thing, although I doubt they played a large part of her talk.

I really think it should be discussed and given as sort of a homework for kids in schools. Let them have a discussion about it in class the next day. It could be so educational for them.
