VPC to Dealership Time?

My F30 arrives at the NY/NJ port on 10/4. I'm assuming it reaches the VPC same day.

Does anyone know how long before it reaches the dealership in Upstate NY?

Last I spoke with my CA, he said that BMW waits till there are enough cars to be transported this way before the trailer is on its way.

I'm guessing there aren't tons of BMWs waiting to be delivered to upstate NY...

That would be awesome if it was just one day. How do you know this though? I'm finding posts that give 6-8 day estimates.

after it leaves the vpc it takes about a day, from port to dealer you are looking at 6-8 days

How many days from port to VPC?
How many days at VPC?
How many days on trailer to dealership?
= Days from Port to Dealership.

the vpc is at the port. it depends hw many cars are ahead of you, maybe 2-5 days from your car getting off the boat to when its in the vpc. 1 day for vpc, 1 day on trailer to get to your dealer

more like to get throw VPC, its usually right at the port, but there are probably hundreds of cars ahead of yours.

The carmen arrived at same port on 10-2. My car was on that. Still there. I am in mid state NY. Was told by dealer it would take 7-10 days from the day the Carmen came into port. I assumed that was simply to wait to get enough cars going to his dealership. So my car could be sitting waiting there but they won't run it up for just that vehicle alone.

my experience with the vdc in NJ over the past 11 years:
1-3 days once the ship docks to process through the VDC. US delivery cars clear customs at sea, so most of the time is offloading the ship and the initial cleaning and inspection.

1-2 days to get the car to the dealer
1 day prep at the dealer.

i would add a few days for rochester, the lower dealer density up there means you may have to wait longer as they only send out the covered trucks when they are full. and the truck will be making stops along the way.

absolute best case i've ever experienced was two days after docking my 07 was at the dealer. didnt hurt that my dealer is about 30 minutes from the VDC

Got an update from my CA. Vessel docked 10/4. Soonest the car will get on a transport to dealership is 10/11. That's 8 days way too long. I would have expected BMW to move things along faster. Disappointed.

My vehicle arrived NJ. Vdc 10-2, then at dealer 10-6 (Saturday). I was advised I could pick it up Monday 10-8. Dealer is in mid-state NY.

the vdc is closed over the weekend, and this past one was a long one.
if the ship docked on thursday, your car might not have gotten offloaded until friday. did not enter the vdc till today, will be processed and out by thursday. they are probably also filling a transporter to head upstate.

Damn. Vdc is closed over the weekend?

My boat is scheduled to arrive today. I hope the car can be done with the Vdc by Friday.

Do they pickup cars for transport over the weekend?

My luck my car won't get into the Vdc until next week

yup, unless there's a large backlog, a service campaign or some other reason, its closed on the weekend.

Yesterday I was told the car would get on a transport on Thursday. And today I got a call from the dealer and they just got the car. JLT!

Picking it up tomorrow. Yay!

I'm guessing you bought yours from the same dealer I did (not like we've got a lot 'o choices here), so I'll be hoping for next Wed or so for mine. It's due in NJ in the morning.

I got it from the Syracuse dealership as they were more pleasant to deal with than Rochester and the gave me a lower price.
