Michael Schumacher announced that he is retiring from F1 driving at the end of the season. He says his batteries are in tie red zone again (and true to his word, he waited unitl October to announce his plans).
The scenario with Schumi has always reminded me of Michael Jordan, great BB player who retired from the Chicago Bulls and then unretired a few years later. When he was playing for Washington he was still good, better than most actually - but the team won no championships and Michael Jordan wasn't the same dominating Michael Jordan he was before.

Despite the below article I'll go out on a limb and predict that Massa will be dumped by Ferrari.

Pirelli interference
So why does Pirelli have to mess with the tire shapes and compounds? Again? They say to spice the show up but F1 should be about the cars and drivers and not about playing games with the tyres.

Well, it's starting to look a little ominous now. Alonso is still doing a masterful job, but the Redbull is just too fast. At this point, if Alonso is to have any hope, we need some Redbull Kablammo's. three races left, you never know...
Watching Alonso dust off the McLaren's on the first couple laps was great.

No, the driver still has to control the car. There is no traction control, abs, or active suspension. As far as aerodynamics goes, nothing else even comes close. But the mechanical bits are actually fairly basic.

2014, I think they are going back to turbocharged V6 engines. I will be getting some VIP treatment at the F1 Austin. I will be posting some pics of the facilities next week, before race day. I am not an employee at the track.

Nice pics guys. Thanks for sharing. The day they announced New Jersey was off for 2013, we booked our tix to Canada again. Maybe Austin in 2014 for me...
Meanwhile, it's a longshot, but we're still breathing. Go Reds !!!

Wow. That was a wild end to the season. It looked like Alonso was going to pull it off on the first lap, but the speed of the rb7 was just too much. But the changing conditions kept leaving room for hope and created lots of good racing through the whole field.
Too bad Hulk couldn't hold on for a podium. I thought his penalty was bogus, he was making a good pass in tricky conditions and just lost grip. Hot to let them race... That Alonso lost by only three points, and Ferrari came second in the constructors is testament to the mans skill. The F2012 was never really more than third or fourth fastest but it was bombproof, and Alonso and the team made no mistakes all year. If Massa had driven all year like he did the last third of the season, they might have run rbr close in the constructors. Then again, Massa wouldn't have been as likely to step aside. Guess it's going to be a while before Ham wins again. I still can't understand why he made that move. It's too bad, this season was great and it's because there were several top drivers in good cars. There'll be one less next year. So, how many days until Australia ?
