Not sure I'd want to work for Microsoft but the right role at Amazon could be cool.

Hrm, I'll have to keep it in mind. I'm not doing anything soon, I've (hopefully) gotten myself off to a good start here in NOVA and I don't want to uproot and move across the country without plenty of cash to do it easily. We could probably do it this year but we wouldn't have two pennies to rub together once we got there. I'd like to be able to move, get settled and loo for a job without freaking out about money.

But Lauren and I are both interested in eventually moving over to the west coast and finding a town that feels more like home. NOVA has no soul, its just one gigantic suburb where people go for the jobs. I'm working on developing myself in the tech industry but ultimately I'd like to find a job (or make my own) in the automotive enthusiast business. Either running a performance oriented shop or working for a company that resells parts, and it seems like there is more of that kind of stuff on that coast.

In this job market, land a job here first and then move, hopefully with some relocation benefits. Don't move and hope you'll get a job.

Yeah, today was awesome. Got some good mountain biking in.

Boosted E30? The guy with the Alpina is in CT. The only guy with a boosted E30 at RIT is the guy with the 4cyl ford turbo motor.

Yup yup yup, there it sure is!

Seattle has a very strong economy relative to the rest of the country. The big employers are Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Boeing, Getty, Costco, University of Washington, and a gazillion other places. As far as tech/web stuff goes, we're second only to Silicon Valley. So that is to say, there's a lot going on here.

Here's a list of the major companies based in Seattle:

Yeah, but living in Redmond wouldn't be as nice as living in Seattle and commuting. Microsoft has it's own fleet of commuter buses which pick employees up here in Seattle anyway.

Or you can do it like I did, which was to quit a high paying job right before the recession really hit, take 9 months off (intentionally), then move to a city you've never been to before with no job lined up, and then get a job once you land...

I was just making a joke about Joey asking if there was a tech market there.

Genentech does that around here, full size 40+' coach buses. I got jealous every time I saw one while sitting in traffic.

Ah yes, Genentech. I coordinated some of their trials when I was at NYU.

I honestly think they have locations in every core Bay Area city. They're all over the place. They must have a ton of employees.

And, it's a great company to work for.

Man, Karl...maybe I should rethink my attachment to the East Coast. You make Seattle sound so awesome!

Well move here, then! You'd fit right in. There's a huge cycling community here, too.

I loved how there were bike lanes everywhere. My stepsister lives there too. You're killin' me man

And...6 of my closest friends have all moved away from Boston in the last 10 years. Occasionally, I have thought about leaving...but I've moved around alot and just don't know if I want to uproot myself again

I've been thinking of going this route...
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=532166
seems like it would be a lot quicker, and probably seal better than what is there now.

They forget to mention the extremely heightened sensitivity of the stretched skin. My gauged nipples are a pleasure to play with

Also, I figure for an investment of the gasket $30 bucks, and 2 hours of my time. It's got to more sealed than I am now.
However, I am leary of stuff falling into the pan and getting sucked up and through the engine.

Was thinking it would be good to flush out the pan somehow after being complete...???

Took me 8ish hours I think. Might be inflated because I broke an oil pan bolt. Easily a one day project you can do in the driveway.

I thought about doing the cut method, but it just wasn't worth it for me. I'd rather just spend the extra time.

I'm getting pretty upset here, I have 3 tires losing air right now, about 10lbs a night. I cant find any punctures, no cracks in the wheels, and they have new valve stems. Any ideas?
