engine coolant

i work at a domestic auto repair shop and i have some regular old 50/50 mix coolant. can i use that or do i need a special type?

If you are doing it for a client, I would say add BMW coolant. If you are topping it off to get the car home, I say normal coolant (or distilled water) is fine. Just tell them and make sure they are OK with it.

Don't put any coolant in unless it is spec'd for all engines.
Prestone straight is what I use, mixed with distilled.

ok this is an extended life all vehivle all color coolant is what is says its my personal car the coolant light came on and i checked it and its low so ill just use the universal

My coolant indicator is going on and off on my 2006 X3. Should I only use BWM coolant? anything else with it? Thanks!
