inked a lease on 2012 x5 diesel

hope to take delivery today. Can't say how great it was to be able to catch up fast on the car here since I didn't have a lot of time.

Got a decent deal, friend works at dealer, had to take something off the lot so I won't have, comfort seats and headsup display and the upgraded stereo , sigh, but can't argue with he discounts -

Already scouting pumps w/deasil... Well see how I enjoy it on my long drives . My Acura MDX was quiet both for road noise and being a gas engine. It truly drove like a 'car'. I've driven the X5d short term of course, but can't wait to long term her!

I'd definately like to get a few things coded.

I also came from an MDX ( 2010 ) you won't believe the difference especially on road trips where it " eats' up the miles, I drove a friend's MDX ( 2012 ) a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe the difference in driving dynamics

There is a ridiculous amount of variability in diesel prices. Highly recommend you download the Gas Buddy app to your phone. Not unusual to have 2 stations a mile apart charging 10 cents a gallon difference.

As the guy who first mentioned Gas Buddy in this thread, I can report that within 5 miles of my house, diesel ranges in price between 3.87 and 4.17.

How exactly are your comments helping the OP? Is your point that everyone should move to Jersey to avoid price shopping? Do you even have a point? :screwy:

thanks to those that mentioned the price spreads of fuel, something I've started to notice even on regular gas.

This might be left field but wonder if it would be advantageous to get diesel in a bulk buy to the house say a 100 or 200 gal tank not sure if that is practical but I have the space. If it saves any money and not crazy permit wise, anyone go down that road? (live in a rural/farm area).

Definitely a big difference between the MDX and X5... Reading here I was starting to get a little scared to of diesel clatter, but found the streets and highway drive home from the dealer to be great, not much noise at all.

I do agree with all here, that the base stereo is kinda like a sandwich without the 'beef'. Maybe a speaker upgrade would be a good easy to do compramise. See a big difference too between FM/Sirius and either CD or Iphone via the center console USB. I wonder if I connect via the glovebox to d/l my iphone music to the HD if the same bit rate as my source will be maintained?

I am still waiting for the dealer to 'figure out' how to install the iphone cradle in glove box, they weren't sure it seems how to add one to a vehicle that came w/o.

They did a good job on the trailer hitch glad I followed the advice here and went BWM/oem !

Only has 30miles on it now , so my opinions may change but so far ; totally happy!!
