I'd like to add one item; hear Bach's "Toccata and Fugue" in a big cathedral preformed on an even bigger pipe organ.....St. Stephans in Vienna would do nicely.

You want to take a ride to an ofshore oil platform in a chopper piloted by a motivated (weather front closing in) 'nam pilot. What a Bell 212 (huey) is capable of is serious fun. (not for the faint of heart)

Do it in the winter, all the potholes are filled with snow and bladed smooth, the locals are much friendlier, and you can drift the corners. Mount a set of Blizzak's on a M-3.

There's gotta be something? I can think of plenty.

Someone said the Northern Lights, I echo that.
Another said hearing Toccata in a huge cathedral, I echo that one too.

I've already done a few, I've ripped a guitar solo that made a few hundred people go nuts, and I've restarted a heart. One thing though is to fly. I've always wanted to since I was a kid, but I can't get a pilots licence since I was diagnosed with type one diabetes. Those FAA sons of !@#$!

What's a Bucket List anyway? Is it just things I'd like to do? Things I REALLY want to do before I die? Things I'd regret for the rest of my life if I didn't do?

I tend to look at a Bucket List as a "must do", not "I'd like to do". That's were I have difficulties finding an answer... All those hiking or seeing places don't talk to me that much. That's why I could relate to Melissa's list. Those look like a fun enriching things to do. At least for me though. Well, except that playing with the penguin..

About twelve years ago, I was working in Denver. The company had the summer picnic at Six Flags. So the wife and I rode all the roller coasters. Her comment was "that was fun, but it didn't last long enough". For her birthday that year I bought her 2 hours in a Pitts S2S with instructor.

She was a little nervous strapping into the tiny (Pitts are really small) biplane, when she came back you couldn't wipe the ear to ear grin off her face. I was regaled with stories of loops, rolls, 10 minutes inverted flight.

Just because you can't pass a medical doesn't mean you can't go flying.

Every time i come up with something else i think is crazy, I end up...just doing it.

I'm only 29, so I'm sure this list will change and evolve as time passes.

Checked off
do an ironman ...so now, maybe I'll do a double ironman some day?
run a marathon...i've run to many to count...now I'm on to ultra marathons...so what's next

I've always wanted to go to Australia, so I'm doing an ironman in Australia, and we're spending 3 weeks there for a honeymoon.

Get a Sport Pilot license and fly LSAs. There no medical - only need a driver's license to prove you have a pulse.

Good gravy, I know a 44 year old woman who divorced and now competes.

Is that all I have to do? :what:
Anyone a lawyer?? I need a divorce!

I'm not a lawyer but I played one on TV.

That line usually works better if you put "pilot" or a "doctor" in times of dire emergencies.

You're totally right. For my birthday one year, some girl blindfolded me and took me to the local airport where we had one of those introductory flights. So cool! But it wasn't the first time I flew. I helped land a 172 when I was seven, and got to fly in a Yak-54 acrobatic airplane a few years ago. Those are just the highlights

Yes, that's on the list! Well, it's not even a bucket list, I'm just trying to find the right time in life to do it. I'll be finished with undergrad in the spring, so probably next summer

That does sound like fun. I've been on and toured an oil platform, but went by boat. It was kind of a challenge climbing up there from the boat which was rocking all over in choppy seas. Fun though. I also used to be on the board of a company that made flight simulators and got to try landing a helicopter on an oil platform (in the simulator, I mean). I was doing fine until they turned on the headwinds. Then I crashed into the ocean.

See bolded. Did you ever catch an episode of "The Burried Life?"

Quote:
The series focuses on four friends (Ben, Duncan, Jonnie and Dave) as they travel across North America in a purple transit bus named "Penelope" to complete a list of "100 things to do before you die." For every item they try to complete on their list, they help a stranger achieve one of their dreams and encourage others to go after their own lists. Everywhere they go they ask the question: "What do you want to do before you die?
I only saw a few episodes, but it always made me think -especially some of the touching stories of those they helped.
