Yup. I work on everyone else's cars but my own. The 325e WAS job 1 until the 633 showed up. Now that's coming along rapidly (drove it about 15 miles today). I was mostly waiting for the weather to get more conducive for painting. I waited too long in the spring. Now fall weather here is just about perfect: cooler temps and low humidity.

Installed the RallyRoad boots Lauren got for my bday.

Has anyone worked with these things before? It seems like there's so much material compared to the old ones. The E-brake looks pretty good, but I'm not crazy about how the shift boot pinches and bunches in the front, and the frame doesn't clip into place all the way on the passenger's side, I might need to sneak an extra clamp in from the bottom or something.

Anyway, what do you think?







My shift knob is looking a little tired these days. But then again, all I'm missing from my dream interior is gauges.

I like! Just looks like very soft supple leather to me....

Took her for a 6 hour drive to Gainesville Raceway. Ran flawlessly

Last autoX of the season today at Watkins Glen. Managed to get 1st in my class despite a slipping clutch. Was only a few tenths off fastest time of the day.

Can truly say that I am an experienced autox'er at this point.

Gonna miss the smell of hot dunlops for the next few months.

Today I finally ordered some much need parts.

I ordered my new washer pump and the little rubber gromet. Some more coolant (used the last of it a bit ago), 2 new center caps (though its almost time for winter wheels).
And the items most needed, two new rear bilstein sport shocks, an mayle HD RSM.
Grand total $282

hopefully all of this comes in for this weekend, and I can spend sunday replacing the shocks and RSM

You can do the shock mounts in like 10 minutes. No for real though.

I agree. won't take very long. I'm just not sure if everything will arrive by sunday. It should...

also need to get a low pro jack. Mine doesn't really fit. Then again, it was a left over from the days of a lifted truck.

Meh, it takes at least an hour if it's your first time. I doubt I could do them in less than 30min including trunk dissasembly. It's a no brainer to do them when changing the shocks, though.

Yeah the jack situation for me is hard. i need to drive up onto two boards before a low profile jack will even fit under my car.

I upgraded to the rogue rsms, so no more messing around with the trunk to change the mount.

I'll take that 10 minute challenge.

Yeah, I don't think I could have brought myself to cutting it up like this... but it sure will make it easy to do this.

I looked at the rogue RSM's, but to much $$$ for me.

Throw little brother in trunk with wrench.

Shut trunk.

Jack car up by differential. Undo two bottom bolts.

Replace rsm. Install and drop car.

We should have races to see who can get certain projects done in the shortest amount of time. I've got a rear window regulator on the way for the E39, who thinks I can do it in 30 minutes?

^ i'd bet against it. I'll put money on 65 minutes on account of stuck bolt.
