135K and running well. Minor oil problems and rear coil springs replaced, that's it. '06.

I haven't touched the O² sensors, don't see a need to given no clear degradation or SES lights. Edit: Got my car back today. The tech said that I didn't need front brake pads for another 15k miles at least, the brake fluid was fine and didn't need changing, and that there were no leaks underneath the vehicle ("bone dry"). Suspension and steering was tight. I asked about O² sensors, and he said don't replace them unless there's a SES code pertaining to it or something else goes wrong. Geez, this X3 is turning out to be pretty tidy even though I definitely "drive it" and use its capabilities more than most other folks. Last edited by AzNMpower32; 10-03-2012 at 05:30 PM. |

My 09 just hit 98,500 miles and I just got it back from the dealer for my final 100k mile maintenance plan service.
New spark plugs Tranny fluid and filter changed (filter I paid for) Brake fluid changed Wiper blades Front/rear diff fluid changed (I paid for) Tranny fluid (I paid for) Finally.... Front brake pads and rotors. This is the most miles I have ever gotten out of a set if pads and rotors...almost 100k! This is my third fluid change in tranny, diff and transfer case. After 50k, I follow 25k mile changes. No unexpected out of pocket repairs to date other than front diff replacement at 63k that was goodwilled. One of the best and most reliable cars I have ever owned! Edit: I have had one unexpected repair....I had to replace a washer pump. $5 for an aftermarket one. Typically my dealer charges $416 to change all 4 after a 15% discount (no filter)...total bill this time was $534.
This time they charged $260 alone for the filter change...I got a bit ripped off on the labor rate but it was the best time to do it when the fluid was drained and on BMW. |

Plugs need to be changed at 100k miles. Mine looked good then but you should do soon!

Ew, fall cold weather has settled into Western NC today. But a gratuitous shot after my bike ride outside Asheville. Dropped down to 8,5°C before I went back into the Upstate. Glad I'd brought my jacket.....
![]() Too bad the trail access road at that particular Forest was straight, could have had some fun with the X3 on gravel/dirt. I'm sort of concerned about what I'm going to do this supposedly cold and snowy winter given my winter tires are in Virginia! Last edited by AzNMpower32; 10-07-2012 at 08:25 PM. |

hey guys just wondering what i should do...my car is at 152,000 miles and i havent done anything accept routine oil changes....mpg is around 23 24 highway....no issues so far accept for a few things
when i floor it sometimes towards the end of the gear when the RPMs are at the highest the car will feel like its jutting almost like if i were to take my foot off the gas a lil, but this is only when say im going 50mph and floor it to over take someone.... next issue i've had since the day i got the car with 120k miles is when i first start my car in the morning or whenever i start it and its been off for a long period of time...the first gear change will be so rough it throws the car forward really roughly...but this only happens once or twice until the car is warmed up and then it wont happen all day...anyone know what this is? and i also have no idea what the previous maintenance was on this car, so i think being at 152k miles and only having these two problems im doing all right knock on wood...hopefully someone can help me out with those two issues?!?!? |

I would just bring it to a BMW mechanic (not the stealership) and let them inspect the vehicle.

I hope for more trouble free motoring for us too! Outside of my failed front differential around 63k no issues. I just wish I ordered it as a manual like you... Quote:
I have been a "super commuter" for about 11 years now and this this the most comfortable car I have ever commuted with. All shoulder and back pain disappeared when I converted from my prior car. However I have to admit, it is easy these days to go 200k trouble free miles if you just do maintenance. 200k in my experience is where i usually have some expense. I have done that on two prior domestic cars (one hit 300k). |

Just hit 100k. Not sure if I should be excited or scared. Lol
Oh and don't mind my MPG's, I had just reset it and was going uphill in my neighborhood.

With the exception of a weeping $20.00 heat exchanger gasket a long time back my '09 has been absolutely flawless.
