'08 650i Sunroof Visor Failure
My '08 650 has rolled off the original warranty and onto the CPO warranty. As luck would have it, a part has failed. The sunroof visor/shade has failed and is stuck halfway between open and closed. Dealer just called and stated this repair is not covered under the CPO warranty. Cost of repairs is $1200 to replace the visor/shade. I opted not to have the dealer perform the repairs. So now I'm looking for a good independent BMW repair shop in the Houston, TX area.
Any recommendations on an indy shop or suggestions for getting this resolved?

I have read about this in the past, seems the only solution is to replace the entire shade assembly. Most have just left it all the way open. Good luck, hope an indie will get you going.

Good news Bimmerfest cohorts!! Took my 650 to get a second opinion at another local BMW dealer, and they replaced both the sunroof and visor under COP warranty. Out of pocket $50 copay vs. a couple thousand!!
