Anyways the total loss dept called they working on the price.

Remember, their job is to minimize their exposure. Your right is to demand appropriate value for your entire solution. Don't stand down.

Looks like they don't even have option to select all the options on the car like ceramic controls, Napa leather etc:-

This is why you have to show them the built out cost, and show them benchmarks like mine.

Also you can just go on autotrader and try to find a 2012 with a similar spec used. See what its listed for.

BTW I did PCD and I did get a window sticker. I had mine laminated so it could be passed on the the next owner.

I'm not sure but I think a dealer can reproduce a Monroney sticker. I did ED and my car was redelivered with a Sticker.

dealers cannot print monroneys, they can request a new one from BMWNA.

Looks like the insurance will write a check to you as the actual repair would cost more, if not 15% more, it makes sense for them just pay you the resale value of the car -- make sure they consider all the cost for the options (MSport etc., show them the receipt).

Too bad you are in this situation but you were not along, mines got hit from straight back at highway when a 19-year girl were texting while driving a mini-van with 4 passengers in, that was 3 years ago.

Sorry to hear that. Most important thing is you are safe. If I were you I would declare it as non repairable. Get the market value and get a M5

I wish i could get a M5 but it is a overkill for me.... resale value is one of the concern...


It will be a 535ix (same config) + bangs and olufsen or F80 m3, if they improve the interior.

I think you should just buy the same thing. And keep an eye out for a nice 2012 used 535 or 550 as it may save you the wait.

The M3 is too far away to be a viable replacement.

I will not bet getting a car until next year.
I would go for new one as the current one have the options I missed before like soft close doors and bangs&olufsen.

Not sure when is the next face lift available.

F80 M3 preproduction should be available to see by early 2013.

Stealth didn't you like bangs? I heard it in A6... Sade and dido sounds good but eminem and jayz not so good

From your sig. it seems that you have had your sight set on the new M3 for a while. It would make more sense to wait for it and not have to trade a less than one year old car to get into the M3 early. Do you know if it's decided to keep the M3 designation or if it will be M4? No m4 i am not in to coupes.
Only thing with m3 is the dash layout the f30 dash is not so great compared to f10
not sure if they will do any changes to the f80.

Yeah, that's why I asked about M4. The chances would be bigger for a change if it was a new model but with it being an F80 instead of F30 there is still a slight chance but I wouldn't put my hopes up or bet on it. Usually though, once you drive one of these cars the dash isn't going to be a deal breaker.

Not sure if you guys have realised it but i feel BMW packaging is very confusing for people outside the circle. As of now it is gonna be a total loss but the amount is not yet finalised.

Fair to say the packages are confusing inside the circle as well... Best of luck with your situation. You may want to try and order a window sticker that shows what you have.

Help them out, go to or call your dealer and have them print the MSRP of your car. It is on DCSnet and will have all the packages and 2012 pricing still on there. Why are you letting them do it and possibly find the wrong numbers?

Maybe they "find a wrong number" that is high and in his favor? I'd let them come up with their number, and then only challenge it if it is low.

I did give them the options list but i dont want to give any prices ... it is confusing as it is ... i dont want to give them wrong ideas showing my ED prices.
