Any Interest in a Part-Out?

I'm contemplating parting the E36, good condition on rear body panels, front is mixed, tan interior is stellar, everything works inside. Any interest in larger/more expensive parts as that will determine if I launch a part out.

Depending on price, I'm looking for front & rear sub-frames.

Yes DF, engine appears to be beyond repair so I haven't decided what path to take yet. Trying to weigh my opinions.

New idea, name the parts you want at the price you want excluding shipping. That will help me get a better idea of whether it's worth it.

Honestly, for me it depends hugely on shipping rates, since they're heavy and I don't really know the cheapest way to ship something like that. Ultimately, I wouldn't want to spend more than about $80 total on the sub-frames. If shipping is expensive, it may drive down the amount of money you earn off the deal to the point of it making more sense for you to sell them locally (and me to buy them locally).

Regardless, for reference, I see the sub-frames occasionally listed locally in the $30-40 range.

Why not just try and sell the car whole for what you got it for? Or engine swap and sale?

Dunno yet Patrick, right now just exploring options. If I could recover all my money fairly quickly with a part out I'd do it. That's why I was curious if anyone had any desire for some of the bigger ticket items.

If not I'll do something else.

IIRC, sub frames go for quite a bit more on bimmerforums. Remember, prices on Ebay are even higher than that.

Probably true, but I see them come up for sale locally on C'List in the range I listed above frequently enough to not want to pay more for them.

how much do you want for the whole car?

Matt, I forgot about the climate control, I actually have to replace a capacitor first but I can test it after I do to ensure it works. I'll know if the FSU is good after I get the control unit fixed.

Franklyn, I would only want to sell whole if I could profit or at least break even, I'm in it quite a bit now with taxes and a sh!tton of new parts I want on it. I'm not in a rush to sell just developing an exit strategy. If you want it for like 2800 or so I'm happy to do that and it's clean as hell if you want to drop an engine in it. You understand cuz you're like me with cars. It's just business bro.

It does run but it's dumping coolant in the cylinders and is out of coolant in about a half hour. Pours coolant out the tailpipe.
