Z4 Last Year for ragtops

What was the last year for the cloth convertable tops.

2008 e85

The E85 Z4 had a cloth top for the entire run. The e89 has the retractable hard top.

In fact here is a pic of the LAST E85 ever built. It rolled off the line in August 2008 in Spartanburg. Pic taken at Roadster Homecoming 2008 inside the BMW plant.

I was there also. In some ways a sad day. In other ways, progress moves on....

Kind of sad it wasn't an si or M, but the luxury variant(probably an automatic as well)....

Big ditto! I was thinking the same thing. The last one should have been somethng special.

One more question on the last of the cloth tops. Did BMW offer the removable hardtop for the 2008 production year?

A removable hardtop was available for the entire E85 run. Pic in this thread

All E85 models for all years use the same hardtop.

Was that the last Z4 or just the last roadster?

Only the last "rag top" the Z4 Roadster now comes with a retractable hardtop.

I wasn't talking about the E89, we all know they still make that. I wanted to know if the one above was the last of the E85/E86 run or jut the last E85
