Mein Auto: BMW X3 3.5i M-Spt, VW GTI
I ordered a 3.5i. I was initially leaning towards the 4 cylinder, finding the performance more than adequate. I wasn't convinced the premium for 6 cylinder was worth it. On my second test drive, though, I was really swayed to the 6 cylinder. I just find it more refined with power at hand. The 4 cylinder seems to work harder with a lot more shifting. While the added visceral effects can make for an engaging ride, the x3 is our main family car. Overall, I think the N20 can easily work well for most people and it's the vast majority of X3s my dealer is selling (they sell more X5s to begin with). I am not sure I would stretch a budget for the bigger engine.
