x5D adding cradle and etc
hi
I have the 2012 X5D , and Iphone4S, and it didn't come with any phone cradle or the stump in the glove box that the cradle would snap into. Wondering how hard could it be to add it but the dealer seems stumped. Does anyone know how hard it would be to add the parts the cradle snaps into along w/the cradle stuff (wiring? is it prewired )?? What would be all the parts that I would need?

Did you order 6NR? BMW Apps? If so just buy a used media cradle (people are selling them from 140-180 bucks) and it snaps right in. No tools needed.

ok so 6nr and app, currently my center console is empty so nothing to 'snap' anything into I'll push the dealer towards 6nr/apps and see if that motivates them THANKS!!

You could do it yourself but would involve some serious work. To remove the center console alone takes forever and is a massive PITA.

ok thanks, i do have the usb plug in the center console so it does the music and album art on the nav display and sounds great. so I thought there might be some prewiring in there someplace whereby all ya needed was the iphone specific end part and the physical brackets i could be wrong, the dealer didn't get back to me yet regarding 6nr/apps as suggested above maybe i'll get lucky really want the external antenna i am often in marginal areas
