Apparently it's a known issue with our engines and happens to 5s and 7s as well.

I had the drivetrain malfunction error...had car towed to Motorwerks in Minneapolis...they replaced 5 injectors and spark plugs....that was on 9/6/12

the next week rear window would not go up....brought in to dealer....while at the dealer they had an accident with my car...was at the body shop for 1 whole week....very minor damage to inside of drivers door...got car back on 9/14/12

i still really like the car

Roger - VERY IMPORTANT - did you go through insurance at all??? If so, your car will show up on carfax as being in an accident and you need to get compensation from the dealer's insurance co for diminished value on the car. Take if from someone who's been through this more than once.

If you're not sure, pay for the carfax report on your car and see if it's listed as being in an accident.

Good. I would've thought so, but wanted to be sure my friends are covered.

paying so much for a car & bmw ( & others ) gives us substandard parts after all the $$$ they spend on R&D work - its really dissappointing ****
