Just Bought M3 E46 and need advice on Bluetooth

Hi, I have just bought a 2002 M3 and love it, although im struggling to pair my phone to the bluetooth, can anybody offer advice, I have the telephone option on dvd/satnav and the button next to handbrake aswell as the steering wheel button, Also I have the bluetooth pass key in glove box.
