Best place to get a prepaid data only sim card good for UK/France/Germany?

Best place to get a prepaid data only sim card good for UK/France/Germany? I can't see myself making many calls, but I can't live without my Google Maps while I'm traveling. Anyone had luck with finding a prepaid one? Thanks.

I don't think you'll be able to get 1 solution for all 3 countries... If you're on ATT you can buy their int'l data package...120mb for $30, it is a steal but convenient...
Other than that, In the UK, get a 3 UK 1gb sim card, they're 10lbs at any 3 store.
For Germany, I used Vodafone, but it's kind of pricey at 200mb for 10 euro. There are cheaper solutions from blau.de or grocery stores (REWE, JA! mobil comes to mind).

Basically walk in to any cell phone store (non-branded) and tell them what you want. This is fairly easy and has been discussed a few times on the forum

As 1st said, it's much more cost effective to buy a new sim in each country, the int'l roaming options are a rip-off.

Oh, and make sure your phone is unlocked or none of this will work.

I was only able to get a Micro SIM card in Germany, so if your phone supports that, I think you'll be golden with this suggestion.

www.iphonetrips.com - I paid about $17 per day for unlimited calls and data. Verizon unlocked my iphone 4s and it worked without a hitch.

In regards to google maps, can you get by with a netbook/laptop using wifi? wifi is free in at McDonalds. But, in Germany you need a cell phone to receive a pin number to activate the free wifi. That's why I have a german cell phone for text and voice only. No pin access number required at McD in France.

There is a free app called mapswithme lite - it allows you to download maps to your phone - but without wifi or cell service it won't give directions. Works well if you can figure out where you are and where you want to go.

For france, we bought sim from orange (in Paris) and it's 15 euros for unlimited data for 1 week. It allows facetime over cellular too. However, smtp data is separated and I ran out of smtp data the first day. No big deal but I need to use the web to check my email after that.

For Germany, they have prepaid sim card in any mobile stores but not all of them have data though. I'm pretty sure Vadafone doesn't... It's fairly cheap as well...I think it's 10 euros for unlimited data for a week but they limit your speed after 500mb or something like that. I didn't have a chance to buy it because we got in the store @7:55p and they won't allow us to make the purchase since they close @8p!
