Seat Dye Removal

I have found a BMW Z4 that is almost perfect for what I am looking for. The good about the car is that it's an 04 3.0i with the exterior the exact way I would want it. The bad is that the xenon headlamps are not working right now which I was going to say oh well and purchase the car anyway. However when I went to give the car a more detailed inspection I realized that someone has tried to dye the tan interior black. The seat covers had hidden the condition of the seats until I pulled them back to look at them and now I know why they are there. Where the leather wrinkles the dye has came off reavealing the tan leather below. Where the carpet wears the tan shows through which at first I thought was just dirty parts of the carpet. Is there any way to strip the black dye from the seats? It was cheaply done and like I said is coming off where the seat wrinkles. Could you remove the carpet and use whitewall cleaner along with a power washer to remove the dye from the carpet? The wear spots in the carpet are almost perfectly tan an the tan leather showing through looks great. It's almost as if the black is just a covering and didn't dye the fabric.
