Update on S54 EML light and Service engine soon light

3rd time at the dealer..replaced all kinds of parts including:

exhaust camshaft sensor
accelerator potentiometer
pedal potentiaometer

Got it back yesterday..they claim all is well and what do you know...EML light comes on, power is cut in half and throttle feel is slow with some sputtering felt on the pedal.

I am giving them one more chance to fix (4th time) then I am going to seek counsel on Lemon laws...its just no longer fun to drive when you hit the gas and the power is gone. I could have bought a civic if I wanted that feel.

My guess is its the Dinan ECU but that fell on deaf ears at the dealer.

and to add insult to injury the body shop replaced my rear wheel with the wrong one..regular finish and not chrome shadow.

I'm surprised that they still can't fix that problem ... you've been struggling with that for a while now. I think that once you begin the lemon law process, the dealer in conjunction with the manufacturer have one last opportunity to fix the problem anyway. Have you escalated the problem to the regional representative?

Some gas stations add ethanol for winter. I was told that this could cause detonation. If so, maybe Dinan software is not fully compatible with it?

I will keep you posted...its been occuring for over 20% of ownershipo which you all Im sure can understand sucks.

I love this car and I hope they fix it.

I have taken my x3 in 5 times and now filing under the california lemon law for a replacement I dont know what they are going to do but its not fun having to go to the shop that many times.

Ethanol has high octane, but low energy content.
