2006 Z4 Air Bag

I have been driving around with the Air Bag light on for the past few months. As I am really tired of seeing that red light on, I am now ready to make the plunge to fix it. After reading several posts, I am in the process of diagnosis.

I just noticed this morning when dropping my son off at school that the seat belt light didn't come on when he unbuckled (the car was still running). This is making me consider one of three things. First, there is an issue with the seat belt. Secondly, I am leaning towards an issue with the Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor. Finally, something got jammed under the passenger seat and the connector came undone.

Can anyone verify that any of these things are related? Any hints?

Thanks in advance!!!
