Another Bluetooth software update released 10/4/12

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...update_vin.jsp

I downloaded this update and upgraded the software via center armrest USB port. Now I can read/hear all text messages sent to iPhone 5 on my '12 AH750Li navigation screen. Still no email support except google map info "Send to Car."

Too large a file to attach here, Truckster. Go to link, add last 7 VIN, and you can download directly from BMW, drop into flash drive, update software to car via center armrest USB:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...update_vin.jsp
Attached are the PDF details for the update from BMW -- It allows me to read or HEAR all tests sent to my iPhone FINALLY. iPhone emails, other than Google Map's "send to car," not supported yet.

File Type: pdf Readme_UPD01005_ENU.pdf (48.0 KB, 193 views)

You can put a random vin of any 7 series to download the files.

Try this vin: C449086

You'll get an option to download 3 files.

Text from iPhone works extremely well. Better and faster than google send to car. File is 8mb. My build is March '12. My update is for cars March and after. There are three other updates for earlier builds.

Why are there two updates for March 2012 and beyond builds?
It is not clear which update to use for 2011 build 750Li.

Seems like it was mislabeled. I assume the second, smaller file is for your car.

Or just try the newest one.

This is how my settings look after the update...

Strange,
I used the latest (UPD001005) on my 2011 750Li and it took the TX 002.006.005, but the other component stayed at MX-002.005.021. Very confusing, I wish I knew what it truly ought to be for my vehicle. How can I find out?

This update only updated the phone features, not the multimedia. That one hasn't changed. Haven't looked but maybe there is access to prior update files on the BMW site?

Did you enter just the last 7 digits of the VIN?

Mein Auto: 2011 Alpina B7
OK, obviously I am doing something wrong. I have a 2011 Alpina B7 with all of the options including the combox. I downloaded the update to a clean USB drive and plugged it into the console USB plug. When I tell iDrive to Update Software, it says there is no USB device plugged into the USB port. So, I went into the CD/Multimedia menu and it saw the USB drive and even showed me the files on it. At that time, the USB indicator at the top of the screen illuminated as well. I figured that it would now 'see' the USB drive and update the software. But, when I tried again, I got the same message that there is no USB drive plugged in. The USB indicator was still illuminated on the screen. Anybody have any ideas why the car can't see the drive?

Thanks,
Greg

You are plugging the stick into the USB port in the centre armrest? Updates from the glove box is not possible.

Nice BUMP!

When I enter my VIN it says 'continue' which I assume means it will/should start downloading or give me a popup. But nothing...?
