I too have a 99' 323 and your story has basically convinced me not to a lot of money into mine. I had a manual conversion and xenon retrofit, planned, not anymore. Ill just save my money for a 330. Anyway, good car and you're a inspiration to us all

Yea, I responded to your comment on my youtube page. I'll say this what I said there. I did the manual swap to my 323, had it sharked, ran a CAI and so on, but it was NEVER a 330. The difference in rated horsepower between it and my ZHP is 65hp, that makes a BIG difference. Not to mention a lot more torque too. And the 330 is nicer, I really like facelift cars as they age, they tend to not look as dated.

A lot of the guys on here told me for years I should just get a 330 and be done with it, I didn't have the money so I did the best I could for the 323i. But the second I had the cash and the deal presented itself, I jumped ship and it was the best decision I have ever made.

I happened to be across from a local auto shop / junkyard when they had a big scrap metal hauler come to pick up some junk cars, and their crushing technique was hilarious. All they did was repeatedly pick up a big chunk of granite about 6' long, maybe 2' in diameter, and drop it on the car, over and over. Then they'd just pick up the flattened remains and put it in the truck. Interesting to see the difference between a little dodge neon and an older volvo-lots more drops on the volvo to get it really flat... Just wish I had a camera with me!!

I know I'm not a regular around here, but I feel like I'm getting to a few of y'all.

I'm sure after flogging on the ZHP, Smolck won't be missing his ole' 323. I was LOL'ing watching this video, sound's like you're having a blast. Would love to see you driving an M3.

Visited the 323 today. This time to steal some parts. She is looking BAD. Almost made me sad till I sat back in the ZHP!

DAMN!!! She's been left hanging out there to dry! Well in my thinking your 323's soul was never part of the sheet metal of that car. It has always been in you Shad. So when you jump into your newer car the same soul is there. Just a bit more renewed, refreshed, and reenergized. The same soul with an added ZHP package. LOL

Just added part of the 323's "soul" to the ZHP. Here is what I stole off my 323......Just finished bolting her to the ZHP. As soon as I get my aluminum pedals it'll look much better.


Also going to back to get the first aid kit off that car as well.

Wow that thing is straight up slavage yard donar car now. Really weird to see it in that condition.
Hummm maybe now I should think about getting some aluminum peddles as well... lol.

So the 323 has been crushed, it is officially no more. I will post a video shortly.

Friend of mine works for US Customs down at Port Newark, and he told me that the two biggest exports out of there are corrugated cardboard and junk cars, all on their way to China, where they`re melted down, re-processed, and made into all kinds of crap that comes right back to Walmart in a few weeks.
The Chinese pay by the ton for scrap, so I guess the junkyards balance the benefits of getting quick (but shorter) dollars against the liability of having to inventory and store those parts for months (years, sometimes) before they`re ever sold.

wow never thought we'd see the day. But I'm happy you have a great ZHP now that you'll enjoy for many years to come.

You should have pulled the carbon fiber trim off before they crushed it!!!!!!! I've seen that stuff go for $300 for the full interior.

Nifty to see it but sad at the same time.

Gave it to my neice before I sold it to the scrap yard.

Well good. For all the stuff you've given her recently, I don't think it would be too much to ask for her to wash/wax/detail your new ZHP!!! Seems only fair to me.
