Kidney grill painting
Hi all, I have a jet black '12 750i and wanting to get the black out fron kidney grill look. I think this looks great on back and white 7's. Question is.....is the grill paintable? I see that BMW does sell black grills but just not for the 7 series.

I know of someone painting tue grilles on a 2012 650. Most places don't recommend it because the paint won't stick well to the chrome but he hasn't reported any chipping or peeling. I can't see a problem if you scuff and sand the crap out of it.
If you like the matte black look, then Plasti dip is always an option. That stuff sticks to anything and it doesn't look bad at all if applied correctly. Last edited by Itinj6; 10-14-2012 at 05:58 AM. |

I've had a few painted in the past not an issue and it's color matched to your car. Since your car is jet black, even the ones you buy that come in black should look like a good fit.
