F10 LCI coming in for MY2014

It looks like BMW is working to update the F10 a little earlier than the typical schedule (5th MY). Rumored to be updated for MY2014 (only 4th MY), it looks to be a fairly extensive front update.



Although this article claims that "new engines aren’t really possible", I suspect the 550i will receive the N63Tu for a healthy bump in hp and tq. I wouldn't be surprised if the N55 also gets updated to match the output of its rivals (e.g. A6).

I hope there will be mechanical changes to bring the weight down a little and EPS improvements to be less muted/artificial.

What does "LCI" mean?

Not sure on the acronym but it's a life cycle refresh

I am not sure how credible his story is since he claims that engine upgrades aren't possible. He says "optimized soundproofing, improved ride comfort and better options" and I don't think it's possible to make the F10 "more comfortable" than it already is without really making it ride like a Lexus.

Maybe I should've qualified it. It seems to be comparatively extensive for an LCI.

For example, the Z4 LCI and X3 LCI test mules aren't wearing as much camo as this F10.

Basically, the entire front end of the F10 is masked including the integrated turn signal indicator in the mirror.

Are the LCIs deleting the fog lights? saw the same thing on the F25 mule

Interesting - kind of makes sense with the upcoming E-class facelift. I will be curious what it looks like "naked."

Oh wow - you are absolutely right. I could not tell this level of detail in the camo pictures. Is that also an LED string along the bottom similar to what Audi started?

I wonder if the LED headlights can be retrofitted.

Interesting, Motor Authority states that this is a 2015 model. I guess only time will tell. Here is a link that has some more pictures around the car.

To each his own. I personally think they add some needed charm and character.

I wonder if they will change the shape of the lights. The E70 LCI brought new LED Coronas, but they were the same shape as pre-LCI, so the retrofit was possible, but it was quite expensive

I thought the swirls came standard with black paint?

I'm curious about the front end. I always felt the non-M Sport F10's grill made it look like it had a "double chin". But I'm surprised this mule has the inverted-trapezoid "catfish" opening. I didn't think it worked when they tried it on the E60, and I can't see how it would work any better today.

Guys, you have all been fooled with all the white swirlys. The only change is the standard black performance grille.

Clearly they've decided to go with the "unlatched front right hood" look for the LCI. Really classes it up.

The squarish halos do look pretty cool, makes sense that they'd update it like they did the 7.

All I know is that I'm glad my lease is up in 5/14. Don't want to be seen driving around an antiquated old beater after the new hotness hits the road!

LCI would give it a nice refresh but I personally don't think the F10 needs an LCI. It looks fine the way it is M sport and non M sport.

The Merc W212 is in real dire need of an LCI. I saw some spy pics of the LCI W212, and Merc is doing a major revamp inside and out. Seems like Merc acknowledge the shortcomings for the W212 and are making it up on the LCI.
