E53 Boot Liner

Hi

The boot liner on my E53 looks like it has had some battery acid spilt on it and the carpet is destroyed. I have taken a look and it looks like the carpet is just glued onto the board. Has anyone tried removing the carpet and replacing this? I was thinking of buying a similar beige colour carpet and once the old stuff has been removed glue the new carpet in place? regards. Tony.
