Mein Auto: On the look out for a E60
Another "Which One" Thread!

Hi all,

Having recently moved to Saudi Arabia for work, I am looking to buy my first 5 series.. So far so good Now I am at loss as to which model to go for. in terms of low maintenance costs and perhaps a reasonably nice ride. Petrol cost is not a matter here.... lol

I know 550i would be an easy choice, but I hear maintenance costs too, specially for a second hand vehicle. Is 523/528 a good ride ?

Could you point out how does BMW differ from a Honda per se in terms of maintenance costs. I used to have Honda Accords in the UK before moving to Saudi.

Thanks in advance.

BMWs cost a lot more to maintain than Hondas, on average. The 528i is relatively problem free from what I can tell. Few here are European, so we don't know much about the 523. If I were you, I'd get the M5 and enjoy the cheap gas.

The petrol's cheap, but I am still working on getting the sheikhs to pay for my auto maintenance . Tilll then I gotta easy on that bit.

I wish I could afford the M5... but hey we all have ambitions... one day!
