Hopefully this helps someone out in the future. I costed me about $45 for the cable, and a little time loadng my laptop with Windows XP, and that's about it! :-)

I haven't had the balls to do it on mine yet, lol. I still have the slight pull when it downshifts from 2 to 1, which I'm sure newer software would fix, but I'm too afraid of frying something to try it

Trust me when I say that as long as you just go to the menus that you need to, you won't fry anything. If it'll help I can send you photos of what I did. Granted, I may have a different program than you....I'm not sure. But it's pretty simple.

First, I got the program loaded on my laptop.

On the disk I recieved with my INPA cable it had a PDF file that gave step by step instructions on how to load the program. You then click on the "INPALOAD" icon and the program opens.

And you just follow the Function keys specific to your vehicle. For me I chose E60, then Transmission, then gearbox control module gs19

I don't want to undo what I fixed so please try and follow along. Once you get into that menu there should be anothe box that pops up and new "F" keys at the bottom of the screen. One should say "adaptions". And then again new "F" keys will appear and i believe one reads "reset". Hit that key and a dialog box should pop up confirming the adaption reset. I hope I explained everything right.

Oh, I haven't gotten very far with that, but after I loaded the program onto my laptop there was a folder that also appeared in c:\NCSEXPER. I opened this and found the icon "NCSEXPER" in c:\NCSEXPER\BIN

From there I haven't attempted to do anything until I have the correct coding procedures.

Transmission "Jolting"

I have absolutely NO idea what happened. I'm finally reunited with my baby after 6 months of it sitting in Hawaii, a boat, and a transport truck all the way to Kosovo. I remember the jolting, the "transmission error", etc.

I start driving it in Macedonia where I had to pick it up and drove about 5 min and the tranny error came back, but I had the OBD code tool hooked up while I was driving. As I was driving I cleared the trans error with the OBD tool, it kept reoccurring a few times but then it just stopped. No more trans error. Wow! Oh yeah, and the 2-1 Jolt when coming to a stop.... That's gone too. I'm confused.....but happy. Good to see my baby again :-) and I have to admit the black license plates look bad ass on a black BimmerClick image for larger version

Hi guys, i guess you must have been bored with this topic, but i want to share with you guys my problem...

I bought e60 530i m54 engine, had transmission clutch slip, replaced the clutch, error sign came on idrive, computer said to replace the mechatronics, feeling jerkiness on upshift from 2-3 and 4-5 gears, and N to R is a bit slow, so after reading in bmw forums and discussing this problem with schpenxel, i Managed to source solenoids kits from m-scope malaysia (much nearer to my country isntead of ordering from states), had them replaced, and new problem arrised, N to D is jumpy, downshift from 3-2 and 2-1 is very harsed, did a software update and it didnt do any good, Replaced the valve body, N to D is still jumpy (sometimes) downshift from 3-2 and 2-1 has gotten better, upshift is smooth.
Fed up with the car, sold it off n traded with e60 530i N52 engine from the same year.

While testing, everything seems fine, tranny is shifting smoothly. A couple of days later, felt the car was lurching forward while coming to a stop, upshifting is normal, N to D is normal, abit slow changing from D to R, maybe about 3 sec. R to P is abit rough. And when i was cruising at about 80-90 kph, and i floored the car, the tranny downshift maybe from 6-5 or 5-4 with quite a slam...arrgghhh cant believe it! What rotten luck to get trany problem 2x in a row!
If just driving it normally, the upshift is fine, its just the downshift when coming to a stop thats not so good...
According to workshop invoices, tranny oil was replaced In november by the previous owner, and seal adaptors are replaced too, however, the amount of money he paid to get the tranny oil replaced is seemed too cheap and makes me wonder what kind of oil and how much oil was put into it (the cost of changing the tranny oil was only +/- 175usd) and in my previous e60 i spent almost 400usd to change the oil. according to my trusted mechanic suggestion, is we flushed the tranny again and put new oil (400usd) and reset the adaptation...according to him, the viscosity and quality of the oil might be so good and causing this problem...
Im really frustrated...spend a lot of money to repair the first car, i dont want to spend that much money again to repair the 2nd car...i love bmws, i think its a great car...but this problem is really putting me down. It seems to me like this is heading to another mechatronic/valvebody/solenoids problem again. What do you guys think? I havent tried the pedals reset yet. Doubt its gonna have any difference. Btw my M54 was 44.000miles and N52 had 53.000miles both from 2005, so i think its 6HP19 tranny...

Any comments and suggestions are most welcomed.

Transmission "Jolting"

Well, 2004 525i sat for 6 months not driven much, (not by choice. Was waiting for it to be shipped to me from Hawaii to Kosovo) and I also purchase a C-100 OBD Tool that reads as well as deletes error codes. When I picked it up in Macedonia I hooked up the OBD tool while I drive and cleared the tranny error code as I was driving a couple times and it never came back. I drove halfway across Kosovo and back to my house and haven't had any issues what so ever. Idk. I'm assuming that due to sitting for a long time, being started to only move a couple hundred feet at a time during transport, the computer learned/adapted to the new properties and now the error is gone..... Again, I have no idea.
