Windshield washer not working, 2001 325xi
Good morning, and thank you for your help on this. I'm new here, and I have had my 325xi for a week now, so take it easy on the new guy please? I'm going to have some questions.
First one is this: I noticed that when I went to use the windshield washer yesterday, it doesn't work. The wipers come on, I know the fluid reservoir is full, but it doesn't come out. Where would I find the fuse on this, maybe it's the fuse? I'm assuming it's all connected. Thanks for your help! |

You need a new windshield washer pump. Common failure. Very easy Diy (search forum). Literally takes 5 minutes and requires no tools. The part is 15 dollars or so.

Could be bad electrical connection, missing tube or clogged line but, most likely the pump. One bolt, one electrical fitting. Make sure and replace the rubber gromet while you are there.

Fuses happen too.
Fuses are in the glove box with a stiff paper diagram for fuse assignment. There are two thumbscrews in there to drop down the fuse panel. |

these fuses tend to blow when either the motor itself is bad, or the filter or the nozzles of windshield washers are clogged causing the motor to draw excessive current.
