OP - there is a thread that mentions good incentives coming down the pipe in the next 2 months. May want to wait a little and see what comes available.

Value can also be you using, driving and enjoying the car and it's amenities everyday. You still enjoy the car even if you rack it up with heavy miles.

I'll chime in as I'm in the same boat. I drive about 25K miles per year, and need a new ride. For the past few years, in my garage was a Toyota Prius (daily) and a Porsche 911 (toy). I sold the porsche last year, and am going crazy driving the prius everyday. So looking for a car that is somewhere in between, with fun to drive being the top factor, followed by comfort, reliability and fuel economy.
Due to the mileage I put on cars, I burn thru them every four years or so. The contenders are 535, 335, A6 and GS350 F-Sport. I've driven them all, and have eliminated the Lexus due to the "old" 6 speed tranny which shifts very slowly. The A6 is nice, but the seats are horrible, and seats are extremely important when you drive over 2K miles per month. Just two days ago I drove over 600 miles in one day. Now both the 335 and the 535 are great cars. Can't really go wrong either way. The 8-speed sport auto tranny is the best auto tranny I've ever driven short of true twin-clutch DSG's, with the one in the F458 being the best of breed. Both offer good seats, although the multi-contour seats in the 5er are amazing, and both get over 30mpg on the highway. The 5 is a little more luxury than sporty due primarily to is larger size/weight. The 335 is smaller, lighter and more nimble. So I guess it comes down to individual needs as far as size. How many people will be in the car regularly? Do you need the larger rear seats? I'm still undecided myself. |

You just gotta take advantage of all the incentives. An example: -$3500 from negotiating invoice price -$3750 from BMW 5 series incentives -$750 from loyalty credit -$1000 BMW drive credit -$500 BMW app credit See? That is $9500 Off MSRP of a brand new 535 already. If you get a 550 you can discount it even more.

Also, OP made no mention of being a current BMW owner.

The $3750 is an option credits BMW had for a long time. They have that at least 3-4 times a year.

Ok, so you are referring to credits that don't currently exist... Lol. In that case, you can get the car for 30k with the $20k ... I think you are a swell guy credit that I think they are going to offer... Lmao
In all seriousness. 10k is tough. Option credits would have to be ideal, and OP would have to have every conceivable discount/credit to get there. 8k definitely possible. Also if Johnia right, there maybe some good credits coming soon.

End of the year deal is usually one of the biggest.
$9-10k is doable. When F10 was hot in 2011, I got mine $7.5k off.

Ok thats what I meant.
There are always tons of credits and incentives available for the 5 series that will make it cheaper than it really is. Something that won't ever happen for Infiniti. For both of my previous Infiniti cars, I got 1k off and 2.5k off MSRP. That is after hard negotiation. A perfect example would be if I were to get a 528 at the time of purchase. It would actually be the same price to get a decent loaded 528 than a decent loaded Infiniti G37.

Its pretty hard for the OP to get $10K off a 2013 535i right now and if he want to wait for the option credit, he may have to wait until the year end.

If you're a USAA member, using their car buying service gets you over $7K off right off the bat. If you have other credits/incentives they can be used on top of that also.

Hi, I have owned a 2012 Merc E350 (nice car), Lexus GS, Lexus IS350, Volvo S50 (great car), a Jag X type, and lots of domestic cars as company cars. I bought a BMW 535 iX drive about a month ago. I have to say it is the PERFECT combination of luxury, fun to drive sportiness, FABULOUS acceleration, and all round quality feeling of any car I've ever driven. There's a big difference between the cars. I've driven a G37... Yes, it's a nice car. I'll leave it at that. I'm always reading reviews (car buff) that want to carp at BMW over this and that, and natter about this challenger and that. When you get in and drive it, it is THE genuine article. All the best.

Buy the 535 and tune it for $400. You will forget the dribble in this thread after that.

Just drove some friends to their country club in my G for an Octoberfest dinner. Back seat was a tad small for them (they are tall) and I'm glad the ride was only 10 minutes. I still like the way my G looks, but I think I am in the F10. More room, more luxury, more refinement. M has some residual interest in my mind, but I'm 80% of the way to the Bimmer.

Get the F10. You won't regret it.
