1997- Instrument Panel

Hi I own a great roadster but have some problems on the instrument display. The odometer & trip meter cannot be seen and the brake wear and air bag warning light is permanently displayed. These have been recently serviced and are functioning correctly. Does anyone know how to dismantle the instrument panel safely. It could well be fused bulbs or another simple reason. Grateful for any help

The odometer light bulbs are easy to replace, but are special BMW bulbs (at least they're in special mounts). Follow the instructions here:

There are three different light bulbs back there. I would have some of each on-hand.

The brake sensor needs to have one or both of the sensors replaced. They are one shot, once the sensor is activated, it must be replaced.

The airbag light may mean and issue. If not, you need a tool to reset it.
