door airbag deployment

Unable to avoid road debris at interstate speed. Centered object but hit undercarridge hard enough to deploy door air bag. Nearly broke my wife arm. No damage to anything else on the car. My question to forums. Has this happen to anybody else?

Happened to us on the way to the first Zfest.

The BIG expense is the door panel. But it can be fixed rather than replaced.
